UNITY AGAINST HATE: WOI WURRUNG

A First Nations-led, story- and evidence-based anti-racism learning experience for people and organisations ready to move beyond awareness and into meaningful anti-racism praxis.

Gifted its name by Wurundjeri Elder and Traditional Owner Aunty Gail Smith, Bundha Yarrununeit means Unity Against Hate in Woi Wurrung language.

Designed for workplaces, leaders, boards and community-facing organisations, the course builds a deeper understanding of racism, power and colonisation — and supports practical, accountable solidarity in so-called Australia.

Shaped by community from the beginning, the program draws on the reflections of more than 100 Blackfullas, guidance from a six-person community Brainstrust, First Nations research and policy expertise, and stories shared by Uncle Robbie Thorpe, Stacie Piper, Maggie Blanden and Chris Saunders.

YOUR LEARNING JOURNEY

A five module journey from awareness to action

Bundha Yarrununeit is structured across five focused modules. Each module includes three - six short micro-lessons, taking approximately 10–20 minutes each, alongside guided reflection, stories, practical tools and opportunities to apply the learning in your own context.

  • Module 1: Locating Values in Self & Systems

Explore who we are, how we have been shaped, and how our values live within relationships, systems, institutions and everyday decisions.

  • Module 2: White Supremacy, Privilege and Power

Build racial literacy and develop a deeper understanding of racism as more than individual prejudice or behaviour.

  • Module 3: Staying Steady: Mind, Body and Spirit

Learn how to remain grounded when anti-racism work brings up grief, defensiveness, shame, guilt, fear or overwhelm.

  • Module 4: Terra Nullius and Truth-Telling

Examine the myth of terra nullius and how colonisation continues to shape land, Law, policy, institutions and lived experience.

  • Module 5: Responsiveness and Accountability

Move from awareness into practice through solidarity, relationality, courage, responsibility and meaningful action.

“A really insightful and grounding conversation about understanding racism, recognising how it shows up in everyday situations, and exploring what active anti-racism looks like in practice. It wasn’t just theory — it encouraged real reflection and practical steps we can take in our roles.”
